KQED Education is firmly focused on giving educators and students digital tools and resources to enrich and expand teaching and learning. We supported their “Letters to the Next President” initiative for the 2016 presidential election. The idea? Give students a platform to tell the next U.S. president what they believed were national priorities.
Our goal for this integrated campaign was 10,000 student submissions. With well over 12,000 student letters to the next president, the program brought teachers and students together to share media, produce creative and media-rich ‘letters’, and make their voices heard. With emails, digital and social advertising, public relations and special events, this campaign succeeded. And now, momentum for student voice is growing stronger by the day.
